Solar Battery Rebate Perth – What You Need to Know

Starting July 1, 2025, Western Australian homeowners can take advantage of significant government incentives to make home battery storage more affordable. The combined federal and state rebates can substantially reduce the upfront cost of installing a battery system.

How Much Can You Save?

  • Federal Rebate: Under the Australian Government’s Cheaper Home Batteries Program, eligible households can receive an upfront discount of approximately $3,700 for a standard 10kWh battery system. This rebate is based on the battery’s usable capacity and is designed to reduce the cost by around 30%. 

  • WA State Rebate: The WA Residential Battery Scheme offers additional rebates:

    • Synergy Customers (Perth and South West WA): Up to $1,300 ($130 per kWh, capped at 10kWh).

    • Horizon Power Customers (Regional WA): Up to $3,800 ($380 per kWh, capped at 10kWh). 

By combining both rebates, eligible households can save up to $5,000 (Synergy) or $7,500 (Horizon Power) on a 10kWh battery installation.
